Hi, My name is Emma Vaughn.

I am 9 years old and a member of the Templeton 4-H Club. This is my first year in the club, and I am raising a market lamb. I live in Atascadero on our cozy little family farm, where I spend my time with my dogs, cats, goats, and lots and lots of chickens. Yes, I've named them all!

I have worked really hard with my lamb "Butter." He is a Hampshire Cross and is one of the largest in the chapter, and of course, I'm one of the smallest members. Recently, we've been practicing Showmanship, and I've learned so much. I'm really excited to show my lamb at the Salinas Valley Fair in May.

When I'm not working with Butter, you can find me running up and down the soccer field, playing piano, shooting archery, or participating in my school's garden club.

I also have a mini farm stand that I set up in front of my house to sell my chickens' fresh eggs and the occasional flowers, fruits, and veggies that I sneak from my mom’s garden. In between all of this, I always make time to hang out with my animals, family, and friends.

I invite you to watch me show Butter during the Fair. If you don't need a lamb or can't make it, they also offer an "add-on" donation to help support my project.

Add-ons can be made on the Salinas Valley Fair website starting on May 18th and running for one week after.

I appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you in King City! If you have any questions, please contact my parents at (858) 603-5078.
